How It Works
Voice chat uses RAGE MP’s built-in proximity audio system. The server connects each player’s voice output to every other player in range and cuts the connection when they move too far away. Volume scales with distance naturally, so players right next to you sound louder than players at the edge of range. Everything is handled server-side - you do not need to configure anything.Talking Indicator
When you are actively speaking, a voice-active icon appears above your head in the nametag display. Other players can see this icon and know you are talking even if they cannot hear you clearly.Muted Players
If you have been muted by a server administrator, you cannot broadcast your voice to other players at all. Muting is enforced server-side.Tips
- Make sure your microphone is configured correctly in Windows and in the RAGE MP client before joining.
- If players cannot hear you, check that you are not muted and that your microphone is set as the default recording device.
- Voice is proximity-only - there is no global voice channel or faction voice channel through this system.
Voice chat is separate from in-game phone calls, which are handled by a different system. Using voice chat near others while on a phone call is treated as in-person speech, not a phone conversation.
